56th RQS comes home
Almost 60 members of the 56th Rescue Squadron returned to RAF Lakenheath today after back-to-back deployments in support of two different operations that had them away from home for more than nine months. The unit first deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Eight days after they returned, they deployed to the Royal Navy's HMS Ocean in support of Operations Odyssey Dawn and Unified Protector.
