    F-15 swap accomplished amid pandemic

    Four pilots from the 48th Fighter Wing at Royal Air Forces Lakenheath in England flew two F-15 aircraft in need of programmed depot maintenance into the Warner Robins Logistics Complex at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, April 3. Thanks to the work of the 561st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and an intercontinental team effort, the pilots flew back to their base April 6 in three healthy jets fresh from programmed depot maintenance.

    School Liaison Office keeps families, educators connected during COVID-19

    The RAF Lakenheath/Mildenhall School Liaison Office, along with Child and Youth Education Services, is providing students and their families programs at home to help continue their education virtually and stay connected during COVID-19.
  • Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Educational and Developmental Intervention Services team at the 48th Fighter Wing has proactively continued to provide vital resources to local families through virtual classrooms, programs, and groups. The EDIS program provides education, screenings, evaluations, and treatment interventions for dependent children, ages birth to 21 years old, of eligible military and Department of Defense civilians and contractors.     ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England – Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Educational and Developmental Intervention Services team at the 48th Fighter Wing has proactively continued to provide vital resources to local families through virtual classrooms, programs, and groups.

    Stay fit anywhere, anytime

    The 48th Fighter Wing Fitness Center developed a virtual fitness program consisting of exercise videos and nutritional information for Liberty Airmen and families to use at home.

    Security Forces augmentees support base defense

    The 48th Security Forces Squadron mission is to protect and defend U.S. Air Force in Europe’s largest fighter wing from possible risks. However, in times of increased threat levels or reduced manpower, an augmentation program is needed to fulfill the need for additional personnel to support installation-level force protection requirements.
