Teamwork is the key to our success as the Air Force's largest, mission ready, F-35A & F-15E fighter wing. From highly-trained aircrew to combat support personnel with advanced communication systems, medical support and force protection, each member of the Liberty Wing understands their contributions represent combat capability for our nation.
The 48th Operations Group provides four squadrons of F-35A & F-15E aircraft and personnel capable of accomplishing fighter and rescue operations worldwide. It prepares aircrew and support personnel to accomplish war plans and contingency operations for U.S. Air Forces Europe, U.S. European Command and NATO. It also provides equipment, training, scheduling, analysis, weather, intelligence, standardization and evaluation, and command and control for efficient flying operations.
The 48th Maintenance Group is responsible for all organizational and intermediate level maintenance for F-35A & F-15E aircraft, engines, munitions and support equipment used by three fighter squadrons and one rescue squadron to accomplish U.S. Air Forces in Europe, U.S. European command and NATO commitments and taskings. It ensures readiness for all personnel and aircraft fleet health through planning, analysis and programming for manpower, funds, equipment, training and facility requirements.
